UI, SCG, Avangrid Named Title Partner for Fair on the Half Shell, Supporting Local Businesses and Community Tradition
Sponsorship underscores UI’s commitment to strengthening community partnership
ORANGE, Conn. — August 14, 2026 – United Illuminating (UI) and Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG), subsidiaries of Avangrid, Inc., today announced their title partnership with the Fair on the Half Shell, a signature summer event hosted by the Downtown Milford Business Association (DMBA). The fair brings thousands of residents, visitors, and local businesses together for a day of food, entertainment, and community celebration along Milford’s historic shoreline. Visitors can also enjoy free coffee, tea, water, and lemonade from Café Atlantique courtesy of UI, SCG, and Avangrid at the Café in downtown Milford and in the UI/SCG tent in the Fair on the Half Shell.

The Fair on the Half Shell takes place on Saturday, August 15, from 9 AM to 5 PM on the Milford Green (84 Broad St, Milford, CT). The event features local vendors, live entertainment, family activities, and Milford’s well‑known seafood offerings. It is free and open to the public. The companies are bringing their Energy In Action mobile exhibit, through the EnergizeCT Program, to the fair to give visitors a unique, hands-on look at the energy around us.
