ORANGE, Conn. — February 11, 2026 — Today, United Illuminating (UI), Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG), and Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG), subsidiaries of Avangrid, Inc., announced that in 2025, the companies significantly deepened their support of community organizations through volunteerism, major educational events, and company-sponsored community giving. Together, employees at the companies, including with Avangrid corporate, volunteered more than 10,000 hours for local Connecticut community organizations, primarily in the companies’ service areas. Employees also organized and hosted four major educational events for various stakeholder audiences, including on the companies’ variety of customer assistance programs. The companies also provided financial support to more than 65 nonprofit organizations in their service areas, which was sponsored by the company and did not come from customer dollars.

“All of us at UI, CNG, and SCG know that the customers and communities we serve are the bedrock of our companies’ success,” said Frank Reynolds, President and CEO of UI, CNG, and SCG. “That’s why, in 2025, we made community and customer outreach a cornerstone of our efforts, including by strengthening our volunteer efforts, hosting new and innovative events, and continuing to provide company-sponsored support to a variety of worthy causes. The team members who implemented this outstanding progress, including those in several departments of our operating companies as well as in the Avangrid Foundation, deserve all the credit for this success, and I look forward to seeing how we build on it next year.”

Throughout 2025, more than 373 UI, CNG, SCG, and Avangrid employees volunteered their time to fill the needs of more than 54 nonprofit organizations across Connecticut. Organizations that the companies partnered with directly included the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, where employees volunteered as ushers during performances; Columbus House, where employees served food to veterans and others experiencing housing insecurity; and CT Foodshare and the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK), where employees stocked and organized food for distribution to the community. Across the year, employees across the companies volunteered a total of 10,012 hours.

UI, CNG, and SCG also hosted four major educational events for various stakeholder groups throughout 2025. The Customer Service event invited leaders from Community Action Agencies as well as officials from the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority Office of Education, Outreach, and Enforcement (PURA EOE) and the Office of Consumer Counsel to learn about the assistance programs offered by UI, CNG, and SCG and how customer service representatives identify individuals who may qualify. The team also described how their outreach and engagement efforts on assistance programs led to significant improvements in customers’ perception of the companies. The Resiliency Summit and the Stakeholder Summit invited economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, government officials, and others to learn directly from the companies’ subject matter experts about the programs, innovations, and improvements the team is planning and implementing across our service area. Finally, the Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) event invited more than 75 nonprofits to network and learn more about the companies’ community giving programs. Across the four events, UI, CNG, and SCG welcomed more than 200 people to the company’s headquarters in 2025.

In 2026, the companies aim to significantly increase their outreach efforts for the benefit of their customers and local communities. The companies will encourage additional volunteer hours and will increase the number of nonprofit organizations who receive company-sponsored community giving from 65 organizations to 100. The companies will also aim to increase participation from a greater number of stakeholders in the four major stakeholder education events.
