Natural gas customers may qualify for a loan from the State of Connecticut for energy efficiency related home improvements.

You can add more insulation, replace those drafty windows, even upgrade to a high-efficiency heating system. These are some of the ways to make your home more energy efficient and save money.  The Connecticut Housing Investment Fund’s (CHIF’s) Energy Conservation Loan Program (ECL) makes below market rate financing available to qualified residential property owners (1-4 family dwellings) for eligible energy conservation improvements. SCG funds a portion of  this loan program.

Program Details

• Homeowners (1-4 family dwellings) may borrow up to $25,000 through the program at interest rates ranging from 0-6% for energy conservation improvements.
• Type of eligible improvements include heating, water heating, window replacement, weather stripping and/or insulation.
