Please be advised that effective immediately, due to overwhelming demand and participation throughout the Southern Connecticut Gas Company (SCG) service territory, the SCG budget for commercial and industrial natural gas energy efficiency projects is fully committed. In an effort to lessen the impacts and extend services during the preceding months, UIL Holdings Corporation (UIL) had only been approving commercial and industrial natural gas energy efficiency projects on a "case by case" basis or as funds became available. This "case by case" review process has been applied to all current Energy Conscious Blueprint, Energy Opportunities, Small Business, and Operations & Maintenance projects including any rebates.
If a customer is considering a project and seeking SCG gas energy efficiency incentives, be advised that there are currently no funds available to do so. A customer can choose to submit a project; however, it’s required to go through a thorough review and approval process by SCG representatives. Once the project is reviewed, it will be held on file. In the unlikely circumstance that funds do become available, a Standard Agreement or Letter of Agreement will be signed by UIL management and forwarded on for signature. This agreement must be signed within 30 calendar days by the customer (or their representative). As always, the customer will have the option to revisit the project and sign the appropriate documentation to receive funding.

Southern Connecticut Gas is partnering with the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, an Energize CT partner, to provide commercial, industrial and municipal customers with a variety of energy-saving programs. These programs offer financial incentives to offset the premium cost of purchasing and installing energy-efficient equipment. Energy efficiency is a proven way for companies, large and small, to help reduce their operating costs.
Natural gas energy efficiency programs have been integrated with Connecticut’s electric energy efficiency programs, and now businesses can benefit from these fully integrated programs to help companies reduce their total energy usage.
Energy Conscious Blueprint:
A program for new construction, planned remodeling, major renovations and new equipment. This program captures electric and natural gas savings when they are most cost effective – at the planning stage.
This program helps businesses and municipalities maximize electric and natural gas savings during retrofits to lighting, motors and controls, HVAC equipment, water heaters, commercial cooking equipment and more.
Operation and Maintenance Services:
This program helps businesses identify and implement energy-saving maintenance procedures and enhancements.
Food Service Equipment Rebate Program:
Upgrade your natural gas food service equipment to high efficiency and you can save money and reduce greenhouse gases.
