Allesio Named President and CEO of CNG and SCG

East Hartford and Bridgeport, CT, June 13, 2005 - Robert M. Allessio, who is currently executive vice president of Connecticut Natural Gas Company (CNG) and The Southern Connecticut Gas Company (SCG), will become president and CEO of both companies, effective July 1.

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the people at CNG and SCG and to serve our customers in my new role,” Allessio said. “Our focus will continue to be on providing outstanding customer service, achieving operational excellence and growing the business.”

Allessio has 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry and has been the driving force behind consolidating operations at CNG and SCG. He will replace Michael I. German who is retiring.
