SCG to participate in Earth Day festivities 

ORANGE, Connecticut, April 8, 2008 — Representatives from The Southern Connecticut Gas Company (SCG) will participate in Earth Day festivities at the SmartLiving Center, 297 Boston Post Road, Orange on Saturday, April 12.

SCG representatives will join colleagues from the United Illuminating Company (UI) and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF) to provide exhibits, workshops and general information about high-efficiency central heating and water heating, conservation materials which lower home energy bills, weatherization programs to enhance home efficiencies, and environmental initiatives that lower greenhouse emissions.

SCG representatives also will provide energy-efficient outlet gasket seal kits to festival visitors, free of charge. These gaskets help keep out cold winter and hot summer air from entering the home.
The Earth Day event opens at 9 am and runs until 3 pm.
